Rebecca Benneyworth MBE FCA
I was born and brought up in Stroud, and attended Stroud Girl's High School. After studying Maths at university I qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. For over 30 years I have been advising clients in my practice but also lecturing to accountants all over the UK on the latest tax developments. I work with HMRC on a voluntary basis, helping to improve the tax system for small businesses. I was awarded an MBE in 2012 for services to taxation, and my passion remains making tax more transparent and easy to understand for individuals and small businesses.
When not telling detailed stories about old VAT cases, I am a keen knitter, running a small handmade knitting business in my spare time. I'm also a cricket fan!

I have recently joined the business and relocated back to Stroud, having attended Marling School before moving to London.
I still balance my time between London and home. For part of my working week I am an employee of a very large employment business in London, where I specialise in payroll services and dealing with off-payroll workers and limited companies. Working for the last 5 years exclusively with small limited companies, I have built up a trove of knowledge in this particular area of business.
As well as being able to offer you my expertise on limited companies and payroll, I am a keen sportsman. Splitting my time from winter to summer between football (I fomerly played for Shortwood FC) and cricket (I'm currently a member of Stroud CC First XI). I also love to get out on my bike with my partner Hollie.

I keep the business running smoothly, checking in with clients regularly, offering IT support and running payrolls. As the payroll 'guru' there isn't much I don't know about workplace pensions, maternity leave and the taxation of company cars!
I'm currently studying for a maths degree with the Open University and manage my studies around work at the business and my 3 young children.
I'm also a keen runner and you'll often see me on the footpaths around the Stroud valleys and hills!

I'm the bookkeeper for the practice. If you need help with bookkeeping, I'm happy to chat to you. As well as offering bookkeeping assistance, I can also just take it all off your hands so that you can concentrate on your business. We enrol all our clients on QuickBooks online and I help clients get connected and explain the photo capture software that makes receipt documentation a breeze.
When I’m not working on the books, you’ll find me busily turning my favourite hobby into a small business. I make crochet items and write patterns as well as taking bespoke commissions. Check out my website at www.cotswoldscrochet.com
